Orion has worked with Superior Jetties to supply a public pontoon for the village of Iluka at the mouth of the Clarence River in NSW. Orion was a finalist in last year’s Gold Coast Business Excellence Awards, at which the 2010 Business of the Year Award was won by Superior Jetties.

For safety reasons it was determined that the Iluka pontoon should be illuminated sufficient for boats to dock at night and yet the provision of hard wired power would have been beyond the budget of the project.

Superior Jetties had previously worked with another supplier of solar lighting with limited success but decided to give Orion the opportunity to provide the solution.

Orion supplied 3 x EverGEN SE-30 lights to be mounted on top of the pontoon pilings. The end result is an attractive and functional addition to the safety of the pontoon
